Dave Gibson BSc (Hons) Ost. Med. Registered Osteopath

I have been helping clients with bespoke osteopathic treatment for 25 years.

During this time, I have successfully treated well over 5,000 patients from all walks of life, worked with BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing‘ as their osteopath, and helped professional (and amateur) sportspeople from all sorts of sports.

The main conditions I treat include back pain, sciatica, neck pain, joint pain, sports injuries, pregnancy and birth issues, including cranial osteopathy for babies and arthritic conditions, including inflammation and stiffness.

Essentially, I offer effective treatments from newborns to the elderly.

My philosophy as an osteopath

My goal is to help you alleviate pain as quickly as possible. I will help you understand how your condition can be minimised with lifestyle changes and stretches, and postural improvements. I provide long-term guidance on how to prevent a recurrence, and I am always available to answer any questions or concerns long after the treatment has been successful. I love to support all of my patients with advice and suggestions, even when they don’t need a treatment.

My focus, therefore, is on helping you understand your condition, what aggravates it, and what you can do to relieve it yourself, should the need arise again.

My osteopathy training and qualifications

On top of my degree in Osteopathic Medicine, I have undertaken extensive training in Cranial Osteopathy (focusing on treating babies and children), pregnancy-related back pain, Work Station Ergonomics, Manual Handling and Postural Assessment.

I have also qualified in Dry-Needling. Dry needling uses thin, acupuncture needles to release muscle knots, reduce pain, and improve movement. It is especially effective in treating a wide range of joint and muscle problems.

I am fully qualified and registered with GOSC (General Osteopathic Council). And I am registered with all the major insurers.

My osteopathy and wellbeing qualifications

My original career was in advertising. However, as a long-term sufferer of low back pain, I was so impressed with the results I gained from Osteopathic treatment that I changed track and sold my house to fund my training at the British College of Osteopathic Medicine.

I graduated with a First Class Honours degree in Osteopathic Medicine, where I was awarded the prize for being the top-rated student for each of the four years of the course. This feat has only been done twice in the 100+ years of the College. My studies at BCOM also enabled me to qualify with a Diploma in Naturopathy. This allowed me to expand on my first degree, which was Food Science and Nutrition.

Over the 25+ years I have been in wellbeing, I have added a number of qualifications and skills. I have qualifications including RTT Hypnotherapy, Stress Management Coaching, Life Coaching, and I also specialise in helping families, schools and businesses with Sleep Hygiene Problems.

Dave Gibson osteopathy

I have always found that most clients want to be treated by an experienced osteopath. As such, I have chosen to remain a sole practitioner rather than employ less experienced junior osteopaths. In this way, I can guarantee the best treatment possible. I have also taught at BCOM (British College of Osteopathic Medicine to put something back into the profession, which I love and keep up with all the latest techniques and interventions.
